How did you get started playing your sport?

I started playing soccer when I was in third grade for KCYSA at Ryan Park. I was able to join the middle school soccer team in sixth grade and continued to play for Kewaunee School District. My junior year I decided I needed to challenge myself and join track to help me condition for soccer on off season.

How has the balance between academics and athletics changed for you from freshman to senior year?

It was easy for me to balance both of them. I was able to complete my work during school and never get behind. My senior year I only had two high school classes and the rest were NWTC online classes. It made it easy to balance sports and academics.

What is your favorite part about this sport? What is the most challenging part about this sport?

My favorite part about soccer is that when I walked onto the field it was as if it was second nature for me. One thing that was challenging about soccer was about being aware of everything. You have to think about the next move, and where the other players were positioned. My favorite thing about track is the simplicity, all I had to do was run. The most challenging thing was pushing myself. Since it is a simple sport it comes down to physical strength and having the right technique.

Where is your favorite place you’ve travelled for your sport?

I did not really have a favorite place for traveling for soccer but for track when we went to regionals I liked the Chilton Track.

What has been your most memorable experience in high school sports so far?

At regionals is when I made my new PR for track. For soccer, I would have to say when we played Green Bay West under the lights on their field it was a fun and enjoyable game.

How does it feel as a senior, to look back throughout high school and see your growth (as a person and athlete)?

It’s a shocking feeling. I am not a talkative person, but with soccer I gained the ability to communicate effectively in difficult situations.

Do you have any pre-match rituals/routines/superstitions?

No, I just play my game and do my best.

Do you have a mantra/motivational quote/bible verse that helps you with your sport?

No.

Any memorable coaches or teammates you’d like to shout out?

Coach Tess and Coach Hartmann for soccer have been my coaches for multiple years and are supportive and encouraging of growth when it comes to on and off the field. For track, Arthur and Joe Kassner would give tips on form and how to improve techniques.

Any hobbies outside of sports?

I like to play video games in my free time. I also play for multiple soccer rec leagues.

What is the top song on your workout/warmup playlist?

I play random music.

Future Plans? (college, major, career, etc.)

I am attending NWTC. I finished my first year of college credits my senior year. I am going into my second year in fall. I am working on my software development degree and I’m looking into adding a web development degree.
