Career Highlight: Any time I get a PR in my events in track.

At what age did you start playing your sport(s)?

I started track in middle school, and have been participating in 5K races since I was 6 years old.

Who introduced you to your sport(s)?
My parents. They both did track in high school, and were passionate about running 5K races, so I was exposed to cross country at a young age.

What is your favorite sport?
Track and field.

How has balancing academics and athletics been different for you from your freshman year to your senior year?
At first it was easy to balance both my academics and athletics, but as a senior I have a few more challenging classes and have had to make extra time to prepare for meets and do well in class.

What is your favorite part about your sport(s)? What about it has caused you to stick with it for this long?
My teammates. Having a good group of friends in my athletics has made the experiences more memorable.

What would you say is your biggest asset on the court/field?

I’m supportive and encouraging to all of my teammates.

What has been your most memorable experience in high school sports so far?
Winning conference in cross country junior and senior year.

How does it feel as a senior, to look back throughout high school and see your growth (as a person and athlete)?
I feel very proud and accomplished, because every year I got better and gained more knowledge about the sport, allowing me to help other teammates as well.

Do you have any pre-game rituals/routines/superstitions?
I usually just listen to music before the meet.

Do you take any extra steps to prepare for a big game or event, outside of regular training?
I ensure that I am well rested the night before a meet.

What has been your favorite experience with being a senior this year?

Being able to share my experiences with athletes who are new to the sport.

Any memorable coaches or teammates you’d like to give a shout out to?
My most memorable coach has been Marlene Hall, she’s always been supportive of me and is a great person to talk with during all of the years I have done track and cross country.

Any hobbies outside of sports?
Shopping, spending time with friends and family.

Favorite food?
Any type of pasta.

Favorite movie/TV show?
“The Hangover.”

Future plans? (college, major, career, etc.)

I am going to Bellin College in the fall as a aprt of the nursing program.
