At what age did you start playing your main sport?

I started by playing Tball as a little girl and then eventually started playing softball for Sluggers and Tisch Mills.

Who introduced you to the sport?

My parents.

Has this always been your favorite sport?

Probably, I liked basketball a lot too.

How has balancing academics and athletics been different for you from your freshman year to your senior year?

I would say that it was pretty much the same, I have always been able to balance my school and extracurricular activities fairly well. It is just about having priorities and good time management.

What is your favorite part about this sport? What about it has caused you to stick with it for this long?

My favorite part is the team dynamic and how close everyone gets. You spend hours together every day for the entire season and teammates become family. This is probably what has caused me to stick with softball for as long as I have.

Is there a professional athlete you look up to? If so, whom?

I look up to a lot of college softball athletes.

What would you say is your biggest asset on the field/court/ice?

My biggest asset is definitely my competitiveness.

What has been your most memorable experience in high school sports so far?

My most memorable experience in high school sports was when I ran at the sectional cross country meet in Whitewater during the spring of my freshman year when we had the alternate season and then I drove from there straight to Denmark to play in a softball tournament at Circle Tap. It was a one of a kind, crazy day.

How does it feel as a senior, to look back throughout high school and see your growth (as a person and athlete)?

It feels surreal that I have just finished high school and am done playing sports. I am proud of the person and athlete that I have become, I always remained true to myself and my morals and I have learned lots of important lessons along the way.

Do you have any pre-match rituals/routines/superstitions?

No, I’ve never been a big believer in superstitions.

Do you take any extra steps to prepare for a big match/game/meet, outside of regular practices?

Not really, I just try to keep calm and get into a good mental space before I perform.

Any memorable coaches or teammates you’d like to give a shout out to?

Jenna Rohr. She was my pitcher for as long as I can remember and always the best teammate. She is one of the reasons I stuck with softball throughout high school.

Any hobbies outside of sports?

I enjoy spending time outside with my family and going shopping with my friends. I also enjoy coaching — during the winter I coached seventh grade girl’s basketball.

Favorite song?

“Revival” by Zach Bryan

Sports drinks like Gatorade and Powerade or water?

You can never go wrong with an ice cold water!

Future Plans?

I will be attending UW-Oshkosh in the fall with a major in Kinesiology. I hope to one day become a Pediatric Occupational Therapist!
