I was 12 years old.
Who introduced you to the sport?
My brothers.
Has this always been your favorite sport?
No, my favorite sports used to be softball and basketball.
How has balancing academics and athletics been different for you from your freshman year to your senior year?
From my freshman year to my senior year I haven’t seen much of a difference except for the work load. I always make sure to get my work done in class or in study hall before I leave for my meet.
What is your favorite part about this sport?
I like that both track and cross country are individual and team sports. If you want to be on varsity you have to work hard to earn and maintain your spot by having one of the fastest times. You have to push yourself to continue improving your time each meet.
What about it has caused you to stick with it for this long?
The team and coaches have helped me stick with it for so long. It’s like gaining another family and I have made some of my closest friends in my sports.
What would you say is your biggest asset on the field/track?
My biggest asset on the track is my competitiveness and positive attitude.
What has been your most memorable experience in high school sports so far?
Making it to state my sophomore and junior track seasons.
How does it feel as a senior, to look back throughout high school and see your growth (as a person and athlete)?
It feels pretty amazing to look back and see how much I have accomplished as well as how much I have grown and developed into the person I am today.
Any memorable coaches or teammates you’d like to give a shout out to?
I would like to thank all of my coaches and teammates throughout the years for always pushing me and helping me become the runner I am today. Their positive attitude and encouragement has made me a better athlete.
Any hobbies outside of sports?
In my freetime I enjoy hunting, golfing, watching sunsets and spending time with my family and friends.
Favorite song?
I don’t have a favorite song, but I like listening to any new country.

Future Plans? (college, major, career, etc.)
I plan on attending college for either speech or occupational therapy.
