ALGOMA – Off the Hook Bar-n-Grill, in Algoma, recently marked its first anniversary.

What was once known as Stadium Diner and Bleachers Bar presented itself as a great opportunity for Marie and Von Eytheson.

The two bought the building at 205 Navarino Street about a year ago and celebrated their opening night on Jan. 27, 2023.

To mark the occasion, Von said the business hosted an anniversary event on Saturday, Jan. 27, this year.

“We hired the same band as we did on opening night. A couple of guys in the band are buddies of mine so it was fun to have them come play again,” Von said.

“The Jackie Treehorn Experience is their name and they really know how to play.”

When asked about how Off the Hook came into the picture for them, Von stated, “There really wasn’t much to it. I was friends with someone in the business, and he owned a couple of other bars at the time. When this opportunity just sort of presented itself we decided to take it.”

Off the Hook Bar & Grill offers burgers, broasted chicken buffet, wraps, pizza and other menu items, as well as games and entertainment.
