Phyllis Mae Charles, 86, Algoma, passed away, Monday, July 27, 2026 at Amethyst Health. She was born May 14, 1940, in Algoma to Harry and Ervina (Klingbile) Tullberg.
Phyllis graduated from Algoma High School in 1958.
She met and married Milton Charles September 17, 1960.
Phyllis was a stay at home mom raising their four children, Carla, Jay, Pam and Kelly.
She will always be remembered as a great mom, grandma and great grandma along with her cooking and great desserts.
Phyllis loved to read, play cards, gambling and watching game shows on TV.
She is survived by her four children Carla (Kevin) Karnitz, Jay (Kristi) Charles, Pam Kuss and Kelly (Jenn) Charles; 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; one brother Bobby Tucker and one sister-in-law Janet Charles.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Milton, three infant children, one grandson Christopher and her brother Donny.
There will be a private family gathering at the funeral home.
She will be entombed at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.
