Richard J Kinstetter, Sr, Kewaunee, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2023, at the age of 91 born on July 4, 1932, to Alois and Arvilla (Paulu) Kinstetter. On September 25, 1954, Richard married his birthday twin, becoming a beloved husband of 69 years to Carolyn A. (Jerry) Kinstetter.

Father of Debra (Dale) Sinkula, Richard Jr (Sue Ann) Kinstetter, Kathleen (Kevin) Reichley, and Charlene (Laurie) Kinstetter. Proud grandpa of 9 grandchildren, Joseph Sinkula, Michael Sinkula, David (Ashley) Sinkula, Richard J Kinstetter III, Ana (Patrick) Merchak, Karrie Kinstetter, Andrew (Michelle) Dolski, Jeffrey Vercauteren, Karly Vercauteren. Great-grandpa to 7 great-grandchildren, Carter and Blakely Sinkula, Magnolia, Sage and Jasper Merchak, Fiona Poxson and Charlotte Dolski. Also survived by his sisters Marion Feuerstein, Judith Kuehl and Wayne, sister-in-law Claire Rogers and brother-in-law Jon (Connie) Jerry. He is further survived by other relatives and friends. Their double 4th of July birthday celebrations hold many special memories.

Preceded in death by his parents Alois and Arvilla Kinstetter and in laws Antoinnette Kriescher and Clarence (Hazel) Jerry. Brothers in law, Eugene Feuerstein, Donald Kuehl, and Lloyd Rogers.

Richard and Carolyn farmed for many years on the family farm as well as continuing the family insurance business until age 80. Richard also drove milk truck for Alaska Farmers Co-op for many years. He also played tuba with many area polka bands, most notably the Russ Zimmerman and Joe Karman Orchestras. In 2016, Richard received the “Distinguished Service Award” from the Wisconsin Polka Hall of Fame for his many years of polka entertainment. He passed on his love of music to his son and grandson to carry on the tradition of polka music. Richard was proud of his Czech heritage and was a member and officer of his local Bohemian Lodge with Western Fraternal (Better Life) from age 4.

The family would like to thank the staff at Algoma Long-Term Care (Waterfall Health of Algoma) for the kind and loving care over the past three years.

Visitation will be held on October 27, 2023, from 9:00-10:30 AM, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church (510 Church Ave. Casco, WI. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 AM. Interment at Riverview Public Cemetery, Kewaunee, WI. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Kinnard Funeral & Cremation Services is assisting the family.
