LUXEMBURG – The Dyckesville and Kewaunee Lions are bringing the “roar” back to the shore with the 18th annual Roar off the Shore Brewfest on Saturday, March 28.
Hosted at the Kewaunee County fairgrounds’ Exhibition Building from 2 to 6 p.m., the festival features an extensive selection of more than 200 micro brews and 50-100 wine varieties.
“There’s no such thing as Busch, Budweiser or Miller to be found. This is real beer,” the organizers said.
Attendees can explore a diverse range of styles, including stouts, porters, pilsners, bocks and fruit beers, alongside offerings from local wineries such as Von Stiehl, Parallel 44 and Door Peninsula Winery.
The event also includes various food vendors, with all food included in the cost of a ticket. Admission is limited to 850 guests. Designated driver tickets are available at approximately half the standard price, providing access to the food selection along with complimentary water and soda. Throughout the afternoon, guests can participate by voting for their favorite brewery, homebrewer, winery and food vendor.
Originally conceived by Kewaunee Lions Club members with a passion for craft beer, the event was initially a three-year pilot project known as Roar on the Shore. After the Dyckesville Lions joined to assist during the first two years, they became equal partners in what has now become a vital fundraiser for local community projects.
Tickets are available online at www.roarofftheshore.com or by phone at 920-388-3553. Local purchase options include all Bank of Luxemburg branches, Van’s Lumber, BlueWater Services, Riverview Transfer and Ahnapee Brewing. Additionally, bus transportation is being offered from Green Bay, Algoma, Kewaunee, and Manitowoc/Two Rivers; these transit tickets must be purchased through the event website.
