Shanty Days seeks food vendors

Posted

ALGOMA – The Algoma Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking restaurants, food trucks, caterers and nonprofit organizations interested in serving food during the 39th Annual Shanty Days, taking place August 14–16.

Shanty Days attracts thousands of visitors each year for three days of live music, family activities, great food and community celebration. Popular menu items in past years have included chicken on a stick, sweet corn, foot-long hot dogs and other easy-to-serve festival favorites.

For nearly four decades, these vendor spaces were operated by a local nonprofit organization as one of its primary annual fundraisers. Following a membership poll, the organization has decided to pursue other fundraising opportunities moving forward. The Chamber thanks them for their 39 years of dedication and service to this treasured community event and wishes them continued success.

Accepted vendors will receive the right of first refusal for the following year’s event. Vendors should be prepared for a full three-day commitment, with more than 2,000 attendees expected on the festival grounds throughout the weekend.

Pursuant to City of Algoma Common Council Ordinance 849, food vendors operating from a food truck must obtain a food truck license from the City of Algoma.

Interested applicants are encouraged to contact Bradley Kautenburg at director@algomachamber.org for additional information and application details.
