Shanty Days theme: Where Legends R’ Reel

ALGOMA – The Algoma Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the official theme for the 2025 Shanty Days celebration: Where Legends R’ Reel.

This year’s theme pays tribute to Algoma’s proud fishing heritage and invites the community to reflect on the stories, traditions and legends that have shaped our city’s unique identity. It’s a nod to our rich maritime past, the people who made it legendary and the memories that continue to reel us back in year after year.

As always, the beloved Shanty Days Parade will begin at noon and showcase this theme. Expect creative floats, colorful costumes and dynamic displays that bring our coastal legacy to life. Whether you’re a first-time visitor, longtime resident, parade participant or enthusiastic spectator, this is your invitation to be part of an iconic summer tradition.

There’s something for everyone — whether you’re into cars, fishing, running, beach volleyball, shopping unique vendors or enjoying live music on the lakefront. Shanty Days is more than an event — it’s a celebration of community, culture and connection.

So come on down, bring your stories and experience the spirit of Algoma. This is a chance to celebrate, connect and create your own legendary moments at Shanty Days 2025: Where Legends R’ Reel.

Shanty Days will take place August 8-10 in downtown Algoma.
