Spartans dominate another invite

PORT WASHINGTON – The Luxemburg-Casco wrestling team claimed the top spot at The Duffy Invite on Friday, Jan. 5 after scoring an even 200 points as a team, well ahead of second-place finishers Oshkosh West and Watertown, both with 177.5.

The Spartans had to do it without two of their top wrestlers, Jake Jandrin at 106 pounds and Max Ronsman at 150, both of whom are still recovering from injuries.

At 120 pounds, Carson Neubert took first place with a 4-0 record on the day.

Up next, a handful of L-C athletes who scored solid points with second-place showings and 3-1 records; Carson Blohowiak at 113, Michael Bostwick at 126, Blakelee Bastien at 132, Caleb Delebrau at 138 and Sam Schutz at 175.

Isaac Jerabek at 144 and Trace Schoenebeck at 190 pounds both had third-place finishes, 215-pound Ezra Waege took home fourth while Joseph Jeanquardt at 138 and Calvin Bohm at 285 finished sixth.

The Spartans are off until Jan. 19.
