Luxemburg-Casco High School senior quarterback Jon Deprey was named Offensive Player of the Year in the North Eastern Conference for the 2016 season.
Spartans players were voted into nine spots on the all-NEC first team, with senior Dalton Smerchek recognized both at inside linebacker (unanimously) and running back and senior Trevor Vandenbush also doubling up at defensive end (unanimously) and offensive line.
Other unanimous first-team selections for L-C are senior offensive lineman Phillip Rasmussen and senior defensive back Sam Larson.
Also making the first team are sophomore outside linebacker Nathan Coisman and junior punter Kyle Routhieaux.
Larson also earned second-team all-conference honors as a kicker, along with Spartans offensive lineman Nathan Yagodinski and defensive lineman Dawson Gmeinder, both juniors.
Receiving honorable mention recognition were Routhieaux at running back and defensive back, senior Nathan Giachino at defensive back, and juniors Austin Tlachac at running back, Gabe Frontuto at offensive line and Austin Leroy at defensive end.
Dorner, Cannon unanimous for all-NEC volleyball
L-C juniors Alexis Dorner and Megan Cannon were named unanimously to the all-North Eastern Conference first team in volleyball.
The Spartans’ Cassie Schlitz, a sophomore, also made the first team.
Senior Erin Liebeck was chosen for the second team, while senior Megan Smka and junior Molly Wotruba earned honorable mentions.
Christoff chosen for all-conference soccer
Denny Christoff, an L-C senior, was selected as a first-team midfielder for the all-North Eastern Conference soccer team.
Fellow Spartans midfielders Adam Arendt, a junior, and Carter Swell, a freshman, were recognized with honorable mentions.
Golfers Ihlenfeld, Sampo recognized
Spartans golfers Alysha Ihlenfeld and Kim Sampo were named to the second team for all-North Eastern Conference girls golf.
