LITTLE CHUTE – Luxemburg-Casco is a game behind Denmark for fourth place in the North Eastern Conference standings following a 49-8 blowout win over Little Chute on Tuesday, Feb. 6.
The Spartans, now at 9-7 in conference, used pressure defense from the opening tip off to hold the Mustangs to just four points worth of offense in each half of play.
“They were really confident on defense tonight, which is something we’re working on now that it’s tournament time, a little more energy on defense,” said Spartans head coach Beth Budnik. “But it was great to get everybody into the game tonight. The last couple of weeks have been rough but we needed those games to get ready for the tournament. We’re going to keep improving and working hard.”
Alayna Deprez led the evening’s scoring with 12 points; Alana Mrotek had eight; Erin Cherovsky had six; Gabrielle Welch had five; Hannah Schley and Riley Westlund each scored four; two each by Taylor Jandrin, Sienna Blohowiak and Maggie Hanmann; and a free throw by Chloe Host

BRUSSELS – Algoma suffered a setback in its hunt for a top-three spot in the Packerland Conference following a 39-33 loss to Southern Door on Thursday, Feb. 1.

PESHTIGO – The Storm rebounded from their first loss of the season — a 54-47 decision against Oconto earlier in the week — by nearly doubling the Bulldogs’ first-half offensive output for a 29-15 point halftime advantage before going on to a 64-28 road win on Saturday, Feb. 3.
Jade Kroll was Kewaunee’s high scorer with 19 points, followed by 10 from Braelyn Chevalier and nine apiece from Brianna Demmin and Breanna Riha.
