FOR THE STAR-NEWS
KEWAUNEE – The eighth annual Weather Warm-Ups Collection will begin March 1.
This year a friendly challenge is again being issued throughout Kewaunee County to see which community (Algoma, Kewaunee, Luxemburg/Casco) donates the most clothing items. Last year’s totals included Algoma with 63, Kewaunee with 137, Luxemburg-Casco with 75, and Nicolet Bank Kewaunee with 40. This year, let’s see if we can increase those numbers,” stated a release from Christopher Cullen, whose family organizes the drive.
“Items being collected are new or gently used sweatshirts and hoodies for students in all youth sizes through all adult sizes. The collection will take place from March 1 to March 15. Bins will be located at the Piggly Wiggly in Kewaunee, Denny’s SuperValu Foods in Algoma, and Stodola’s IGA in Luxemburg.”
Items will be distributed during the Kewaunee County Back to School program, held in August.
