Who are Kewaunee County's people of the year?

Posted

KEWAUNEE - As the end of the year nears, we're looking to recognize people who have made a big difference in Kewaunee County in 2019.

We want your input on who belongs on that list of 2019 People of the Year.

Our 2019 People of the Year can be any of the many, many people who made an impact on our area this year. They may be people whose contributions are well known, or they may be people whose work has been mostly unheralded or behind-the-scenes. A good nominee may be a business leader; a political office holder; someone from the nonprofit world; an artist; a teacher; a social worker; an activist.

There are a lot of ways to define "impact," and we welcome many interpretations of what it means to make a difference. The best candidates will likely be those whose efforts made specific, concrete changes in the area or who otherwise reached a lot of people.

These aren't lifetime achievement awards. The impact we're looking for must have happened in this calendar year, 2019.

We'll take readers' submissions, add some of our own, and we'll narrow it down to a list of our finalists, which we'll publish in the last week of the year.

Email a name and a paragraph or two explaining the nomination to tkern@gannett.com. You can also call 920-907-7819 and leave a voicemail message with your nomination and callback information.

The deadline for nominations is noon on Nov. 25. We will look forward to reading yours.
