Winning beach dog chosen

Lily, a three-year-old Brittany, is the winner of the Algoma Chamber of Commerce and Friends of Crescent Beach dog photo contest.   As the beach is such a favored place for dog walking, the two groups decided this fall to sponsor the contest.

"Lily our energetic, fun-loving Brittany enjoys walking to the beach with our family for picnics," said her owner Lydia Olejniczak.  "She loves meeting new friends, chasing waves and occasionally going out in our kayak."

Lily's photo was picked from 13 entries.   She is a junior at Algoma High School and the daughter of Marty and Sarah Olejniczak.  She will have her winning pictures in the 2016 Friendly Algoma brochure.   More than 20,000 copies of the brochure will be distributed around the state and country, said Joy Krieger, executive director of the chamber of commerce.
