KEWAUNEE COUNTY – All three teams from the Star-News area were successful last week, with the Storm battering the Bonduel Bears, the Spartans running over the Mustangs and the Wolves took care of Gillett in a high-scoring game in Algoma.

In that game, Max Ronsman finished 11-for-13 through the air for 194 yards and two touchdowns while adding 124 yards on the ground with 23 carries for three scores.

Trace Schoenebeck caught six passes for 83 yards and a touchdown while Brady Massey had 73 yards on two catches, one of which was a touchdown grab.

Storm bludgeon Bears

KEWAUNEE – The Kewaunee High football team moved to 5-0 on the season with a lopsided 42-7 win over Bonduel last Friday.

Owen Carlson got things started with a 45-yard punt return for a touchdown in the first quarter, one that would see the home team score 21 points to take control of the game.

Carlson finished with 97 yards on 12 carries for two rushing TDs to lead the Kewaunee ground attack, which also enjoyed scores from Brett Paulsen and DJ Echols.

Quarterback Thomas Stangel turned in a five-for-eight effort for 48 yards, including a 20-yard touchdown pass to Maddix Mueller.

Wolves roll over Tigers

ALGOMA – The Wolves led last Friday’s game against Gillett wire-to-wire to pick up a 54-37 victory and improve to 2-1 on the season.

Parker Liscka ran for a 51-yard touchdown to get the scoring started before Grant Vandervest added another early touchdown with a 41-yard carry to make it 16-8 after one quarter.

Liscka, who had 105 yards on only six carries, went 39-yards in the second quarter for another long scoring run in the second quarter to make the halftime score 24-8.

Vandervest ran it 16 times for 170 yards and three rushing scores, while also going six-for-eight through the air with a 26-yard touchdown pass to Liscka in the third.
