Wolves tame Bulldogs

PESHTIGO – The Algoma boys moved to 2-2 overall for the year with a solid performance against Peshtigo on Friday, Dec. 8 that saw the Wolves take an early 5-2 lead on a three-pointer from Parker Lischka and never look back on the way to a 66-47 victory.

Algoma looked sharp the whole way through the road win, being very patient on offense and allowing things to develop and rarely settling for poor shots.

The Wolves went up by double digits for the first time in the game with 5:20 left in the opening half by scoring 10 unanswered, capped off with a demoralizing three-pointer by Braeden Leist right in front of the Peshtigo bench to make it 28-18.

Lischka turned in a game-high 20 points and added three boards, an assist and two steals. Chase Romdenne had 18 points and two rebounds and Cody Kirchman turned in 14 points and two boards.

Algoma falls to NEW Christian Homeschool

ALGOMA – The Wolves couldn’t make a 31-21 halftime advantage hold up against NEW Christian Homeschool on Monday, Dec. 11 as the visitors battled back in the second and eventually took a 68-63 overtime win.

Parker Lischka had a big game for Algoma with 30 points, 10 rebounds and three steals.

Chase Romdenne chipped in 15 points, three assists and two rebounds while Jack Tebon scored 12 to go along with two boards and an assist.

Storm beat up on Blazers

KEWAUNEE – The Storm had another strong early-season showing on Thursday, Dec 7 at home against Green Bay NEW Lutheran, taking a 65-55 victory to improve to 3-1 on the year.

Thoma Stangel led the way with 18 points, followed by Conor Kilgore with 16, Avery Jerabek with 11 and Braxton Riha with 10.

Kewaunee defeated by Freedom

KEWAUNEE – 26 points from Thomas Stangel and another 23 from Braxton Riha wasn’t enough to propel Kewaunee to victory on Saturday, Dec. 9 as the Storm dropped one to Freedom 88-65.

Kewaunee also got 10 from Avery Jerabek in the loss, putting the team at 3-2 overall for the season.

Kewaunee gets back on track vs. Shiocton

SHIOCTON – The Kewaunee boys are at 4-2 on the year following a 59-51 road victory against Shiocton on Tuesday, Dec. 12.

Thomas Stangel led the Storm in scoring with 20 points while Braxton Riha added 17 and Connor Kilgore 14.

Spartans lose to Truckers

LUXEMBURG – The L-C boys couldn’t overcome a 20-15 halftime deficit on Friday, Dec. 9 against Clintonville, dropping their third straight game in a 52-44 defeat.

Lance Cherovsky paced the Spartans with 14 points and three rebounds while Steelen Olsen turned in 11 points, five boards and two assists.

L-C can’t keep pace with Wrightstown

WRIGHTSTOWN – The Spartans were within three points at halftime against Wrightstown at 23-20 but fell behind further after the break and couldn’t get back on track, falling to 2-4 on the year after a fourth straight loss.

Lance Cherovsky and Caleb Radart each turned in 10 points to lead the Spartans’ offense.
