LUXEMBURG - At approximately 7:45 a.m. Thursday the Kewaunee County Sheriff’s Department along with Luxemburg Fire Department, Luxemburg Rescue and Algoma Rescue responded to a call of a two- vehicle accident at the corner of Luxemburg Road and Rendezvous Road in the Township of Luxemburg.
The accident involved a semi with an empty trailer traveling Northbound on Rendezvous Rd. The semi failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Rendezvous Road and Luxemburg Road. The semi, a 2007 Peterbuilt was then struck a 2013 Dodge minivan which was traveling Eastbound on Rendezvous Road causing the semi to lose control and leave the roadway striking a utility pole.
The minivan was driven by a 32-year-old female from Luxemburg who also had two children in the vehicle at the time of the accident. The driver of the semi was a 51-year-old male subject from Crivitz, Wisconsin.
The driver of the minivan along with one of the passengers in the minivan was transported to a medical facility in Green Bay with what are believed to be minor injuries.
The accident is under investigation by the Kewaunee County Sheriff’s Department with the assistance of the Wisconsin State Patrol.
