6 L-C wrestlers, Kewaunee’s Severin to state

Six Luxemburg-Casco wrestlers qualified for the state meet at the WIAA Division 2 sectional tournament Feb. 20 in Oconto Falls, including sectional champion Bryce Bosman at 106 pounds.

Also advancing were Dalton Smerchek, who placed second at 170, and third-place wrestlers Nathan Ronsman (113), Colton Worachek (126), Eric Peters (145) and Cullen Ducat (160).

The Spartans also tied for second place in the team scoring.

In the Division 3 sectional in Dodgeland, Kewaunee’s Sam Severin punched his ticket for state by taking second place at 170 pounds, improving to 37-4 on the season.

Oconto Falls Sectional Team Scores: Two Rivers 108.5, Luxemburg-Casco 85, Freedom 85, Wrightstown 74, Oconto Falls 72, Denmark 62, Tomahawk 60, Seymour 44, Wittenberg-Birnamwood 44, Ripon 39, Omro 28, Southern Door 27.5, Wautoma/Wild Rose 23.5, Nekoosa/Assumption/Port Edwards 23, Almond-Bancroft/Pacelli 22, Mosinee 16, Berlin 9, Shawano 7, Lakeland 6, Winneconne 2.
