The three Kewaunee County public school districts each earned an “exceeds expectations” on the state report cards released last week by the Department of Public instruction.

Kewaunee, Luxemburg-Casco and Algoma school districts join 91 percent of Wisconsin public school districts that met or exceeded expectations for the 2015-16 report cards.

According to a news release from the DPI, the report cards “provide a snapshot of school and district performance.” The 2015-16 report cards are not comparable to report cards in past years. The areas of accountability include student achievement in English Language Arts and mathematics, student growth, closing gaps between student groups, and measures of readiness for graduation and post-secondary success.

Algoma

The Algoma School District earned an overall score of 73.6, or exceeds expectations, on the state report cards. The district scored 72.8 for student achievement, 57.5 for student growth, 76.8 for closing gaps, and 89.1 for on-track and post-secondary readiness. All scores are out of 100.
