The Algoma Community Band and The Lakeshore Singers will present their annual Veterans Day concert at 7 p.m. Nov. 8 in the Performing Arts Center at Algoma Elementary School, 514 Fremont St.

The concert will open with the presentation of the flags by veterans, followed by the band, directed by Tom Mueller, playing some favorite patriotic songs, such as selections from “Victory at Sea” and “Midway” directed by David Kopetsky. John Nielsen will direct “Armed Forces Salute,” a traditional piece including songs for all branches of the military.

The Lakeshore Singers will follow with more patriotic songs, including a John Rutter arrangement of “The Battle Hymn of the Republic” with Singers director David Robertson and Liz Melotte accompanying the singers and the audience welcome to join in.

After the concert, guests are invited to join the veterans, band members and singers for a reception in the school cafeteria to honor the veterans.
