Spartans win super regional

TWO RIVERS – The Luxemburg-Casco wrestling team won the 13 – team super-regional held at Two Rivers on Feb.10, 2024.
The Spartans had eleven finalists and three Spartans took first place finishes at the event.
The 120-pound freshman phenom Carson Neubert beat two-time state tournament second placer Logan Mueller of Brillion 5-1.
Luxemburg-Casco’s other two champions were 138-pound Caleb Delebreau and 150-pound Max Ronsman, who won his fourth straight regional, three of which were won at Two Rivers.
Second place finishers for L-C were Carson Blohowiak (113), Michael Bostwick (126), Blakelee Bastien (132), Isaac Jerabek (144), Trace Schoenebeck (190), Ezra Waege (215), Caleb Salentine (285) and Sam Schutz (175).
L-C win 1,000th dual meet, sectional championship
LUXEMBURG – The Luxemburg-Casco wrestling team reached a school milestone on Tuesday, Feb. 13, winning its 1,000th dual, a mark 73 years in the making.
In the final on Tuesday, L-C dominated Freedom 49-20, winning nine of 14 matches. In the semifinals, the Spartans took down Wittenberg-Birnamwood 52-16.
On the evening, L-C was victorious in 20 of its 28 matches and will now wrestle for another Division 2 State Championship at the UW Madison Field House on March 2.
Trio of Kewaunee grapplers move on
CEDAR GROVE – The Kewaunee wrestling team had three bracket winners at regionals on Saturday, Feb. 10 with Aiden Ducat at 113 pounds, Kemper Robinson at 190 and Mitchell Boeder at 285 with three pins all finishing tops in their divisions.
Also moving on to sectionals are Mitchell Van Goethem, who took second at 157 pounds and Nolan Lambrecht who took fourth at 106 pounds.
