BRUSSELS –  In a matchup of the Packerland Conference’s top two teams on Friday, Feb. 16, Kewaunee had a tough time containing Southern Door’s Drew Daoust and the Eagles’ offensive attack early on, leading to an 82-61 defeat.

The Storm, down 45-27 after the first half of play, got 21 points, three rebounds, two assists and a steal from Thomas Stangel, backed up by 20 points and four boards from Braxton Riha.

Avery Jerabek turned in nine points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals.

Daoust finished with 32 points and 11 assists for Southern Door.

Kewaunee notches win over Sturgeon Bay

STURGEON BAY – The Storm have won both games of their season series with the Clippers following a 60-54 victory on Monday, Feb. 19, moving the team to 13-2 in Packerland action.

Thoma Stangel turned in a game-high 32 points, followed by 14 from Braxton Riha and nine from Connor Kilgore.  

Wolves take care of Vikings

ALGOMA – The Algoma boys got 20 points from Parker Lischka on Monday, Feb. 19 in a 56-39 victory that improved their Packerland Conference record to 8-7.

Braeden Leist finished with 11 and Cody Kirchman added nine.

Spartans defeated by Comets

WAUPACA – The Luxemburg-Casco boys, following a victory over Green Bay West earlier in the month, have now lost two in a row with a 75-48 defeat at the hands of Waupaca on Friday, Feb. 16.

Lance Cherovsky hit three three-pointers on his way to 11 points to go along with his two rebounds and a steal.

Landon Derenne turned in 10 points, a steal, an assist and a rebound while Mason Burmeister had seven points, five assists, two steals and a rebound.
