KEWAUNEE – The Kewaunee STORM Snack Pack Program Leadership group was named the 2023 Kewaunee Rotary Club Persons of the Year during a May 21 banquet at JW’s Place.

The Snack Pack Program was started by the Kewaunee Optimist Club and the Kewaunee Rotary about three years ago to address weekend food insecurity among local students.

“Kids were getting lunches and breakfast during the school week; but at times, were not getting proper nutrition/food during the weekend.  For whatever reason, whether it be finances, single parent homes, parents working weekends, etc, this need was not being met for some during the weekend.  The kids were coming to school hungry, which affects concentration, school work and overall health,” a Kewaunee Rotary Club release stated.

Members of the program’s leadership group include: Jim Lamack, Kacy Rohr and Scott Wiley.

Jim Lamack

Lamack is a 1984 graduate of Kewaunee High School, a 1988 graduate of Carroll College with a bachelor of science in business finance and 2000 graduate of UW-Madison with a graduate degree in banking.

He currently works for Nicolet Bank as vice president of commercial banking.

Lamack serves on the Community Congregational Church Board of Trustees and is a member of the Kewaunee Optimist Club and Kewaunee Booster Club member, serving as treasurer.

He currently serves on Kewaunee Area Scholarships, Inc., Kewaunee Health & Fitness and Kewaunee County Business Development Loan Program boards and committees.

Kacy Rohr

Rohr has been an educator for 26 years — 25 years with the Kewaunee School District.

She now serves as the director of pupil services and special education

Rohr is a member of the Holy Rosary Pastoral Council, Kewaunee Grade School PTA and Empowering & Supporting Individuals Board of Directors.

She is a founding member of the Kewaunee County Sluggers.

Scott Wiley

Wiley attended UW-River Falls and UW-Madison and worked as a large animal veterinarian at Dairyland Veterinary Service in Casco until his retirement.

He has volunteered at Kewaunee’s Breakfast on the Farm and the Kewaunee County Fair.
