KCEDC recognizes local business leaders

At the Kewaunee County Economic Development Corporation (KCEDC) Annual Dinner & Buy Local Awards Celebration on March 9, KCEDC honored two community leaders with 2015 Vocal Local Awards.
Shawn Olson, Oslon Fabrication Inc., and Gary VanDrisse, VanDrisse Insurance, were recognized for embracing the principles of the Kewaunee County Buy Local Initiative: Improving the quality of life through strengthening local businesses, improving job opportunities and keeping our dollars local.
Shawn Olson is the owner and operator of Olson Fabrication Inc., where manufacturing local equals local jobs and a healthy, vibrant economy. In addition to serving and supporting various local organizations and community events, Olson is a longtime member of Kewaunee County Buy Local.
Gary VanDrisse is the owner of VanDrisse Insurance, who was described as a dedicated community leader who understands importance of grassroots initiatives like Kewaunee County Buy Local.
KCEDC’s Annual Dinner also featured Kewaunee County Farm Technology Days Executive Committee speakers, Amber Hewett (Lakeshore Dairy Services) and Kristy Pagel (Diamond V). They talked about the numerous local opportunities connected to hosting such a large-scale event, while providing an overview of the potential economic impact and positive benefits for the community.
