WISCONSIN DELLS – The Kewaunee County Star-News won two first place awards at the Wisconsin Community Papers conference held April 5-6.

Tina M. Gohr won for Best Original Writing for her feature story "85 going on 25," about 85-year-old Arlene Jadin of Red River and how she stays active and busy. It ran in the Feb. 11, 2017 edition of the Star-News.

Also, Star-News advertising sales representative Katie Vitela won for Best Grocery Ad (Larger Than Half-Page).

The awards contest period was for the 2017 calendar year. The conference was held at Chula Vista Resort in Wisconsin Dells.
