Food and wine.

KEWAUNEE – Restaurants and other food specialists from across Northeast Wisconsin are bringing their best to Parallel 44 Vineyard & Winery for a good cause, as the winery announced the dining lineup for its Food & Wine Fest on April 28.

The festival has guests sample dishes prepared by nine area food vendors and paired with a Parallel 44 wine. The guests then vote for their favorites, and the vote totals determining donations to charities specified by the vendors.

The restaurants and vendors, their dishes and the paired wines are:

Smoked to the Bone food truck, Green Bay: Pulled pork sandwiches paired with Parallel 44 Drink Pink! wine.

Taste of Ethiopia food truck, De Pere: Street tacos with Frozen Tundra Original wine.

Pizza Garden, Manitowoc: Garden Special pizza (sausage, pepperoni, mushroom, onion) with Frozen Tundra Red.

The Cozzy Corner, Appleton: Smoked pulled pork with Washington Island Rosè.

Heartland Pizza Co., Green Bay: Mexican chocolate or cherry basil ice creams with Frozen Tundra White.

The Cannery Public Market, Green Bay: Steak Caprese skewers with La Crescent (Moscato-style varietal).

Hall of Fame Chophouse, Green Bay: Spring Harvest Plate (peppercorn-crusted beef tenderloin, purple potatoes, wild mushroom demi-glace, asparagus) with Vintner's Reserve red blend.

Uncle Mike's Bake Shoppe, Green Bay: Chocolate cake with chocolate ganache layers and chocolate icing, with Petite Pearl Reserve.

Il Angolo Resto-Bar, Appleton: TBD with Red Door.

The dish receiving the most votes earns $750 for its designated charity, with $500 for second place and $250 for third; all other dishes earn $150 for their charities. Those charities are The Miracle League, Family Services, HOOAH Wisconsin, Autism Society Lakeshore Wisconsin, B.A.B.E.S. Inc. Child Abuse Prevention, Breast Cancer Family Foundation, Fox Valley Warning Shelter, My Team Triumph, and Pay It Forward Ethiopia.

The Food & Wine Fest runs from noon to 4 p.m. April 28 at Parallel 44, N2185 Sleepy Hollow Road, Kewaunee. Tickets are $35 in advance, $40 at the door, and include the nine food-and-wine samples and a commemorative wine tasting glass. For tickets or more information, call 920-388-4400 or go to www.44wineries.com.
