BROWN COUNTY – Roadwork to resurface part of State 29 in Brown County will begin Tuesday.

The project is taking place between State 29's junction with U.S. 141 in Bellevue and the Brown/Kewaunee county line. It includes new pavement markings and signing, new center lines and shoulder rumble strips.

The project is scheduled to finish by July 31. Construction details and weekly updates will be available on the Northeast Region Weekly Highway Construction Update website, projects.511wi.gov/weeklyupdates-ne/

The highway will remain open during construction, but motorists will encounter lane closures and flagging operations. Minor delays can be expected. The contractor will be required to provide full, two-lane operations throughout the project during nonwork times.

The resurfacing is a continuation of two-year, $3.247 million project to improve 7.8 miles of 29. Crews replaced 15 culvert crossings in the project work zone in 2017..

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation also reminds motorists to slow down, be patient and pay attention to their surroundings in this and all work zones.
