What got you into racing?
My dad raced and he still races and it’s been in the family. I was always into racing even when I was younger. I also raced go-karts when I was younger.

What motivates you to race?
My dad, my family and always being at the racetrack in the summer.

How do you train for your racing events?
I don’t really train. Sometimes we go to practice on a weekday and I feel like that helps me out a lot and I can get more comfortable with the car. I also play iracing which is a simulator for racing.

Have you noticed any growth or anything different you do that makes you more comfortable behind the wheel?
We got a newer car over the winter and the car was definitely better this year and just more seat time behind the wheel made me better.

What are those expectations coming into this year?
I definitely had high expectations going into this season knowing what I did in my rookie year and I wanted to do better. I definitely feel like I hit my expectations, and next year I’ll have even higher expectations.

How does it feel to have your classmates come watch you perform?
It’s always cool when they come to watch. This year they came on a night I was able to win and that was pretty cool.

Is there a professional athlete you look up to? If so, why?
I really don’t have a favorite racer but I watch guys that are fast like Benji LaCrosse. I feel like just watching guys that are fast makes you better as a driver.

Do you have any pre-match rituals/routines/superstitions?
No not really, just keep calm and stay focused.

Any hobbies outside of sports?
I like watching football and basketball games.

Favorite song?
“American Kids,” by Kenny Chesney.
