Christman defeats Blaha for Kewaunee Mayor

The City of Kewaunee has a new mayor. City Council member Sandi Christman defeated incumbent mayor John Blaha by a vote of 650 to 453, with candidate John T. Griffith picking up 69 votes.
Blaha has been mayor since 2007.

Christman is a lifelong resident of Kewaunee and has worked in the insurance industry, health care administration, human resources and currently works as a grant writer. She has also served as chairperson of the city Finance Committee.
The city of Kewaunee also elected two new council members. In District 1, Jason Jelinek defeated Kathy Brown by a vote of 154-106. In District 3, Janita Zimmerman defeated Ronald Gilbertson by a vote of 186 to 99.
