Algoma grad Schmidt named to preseason All-American team
University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh senior guard Taylor Schmidt was named a preseason women’s basketball All-American by D3hoops.com.
Schmidt was named to the fourth team by the website, which lists five preseason teams.
The Algoma native has earned first-team all-WIAC honors the past two years.
Schmidt, who has started each of the Titans’ 89 games over the past three years, enters her senior campaign with 954 points, 257 assists, 218 rebounds and 136 steals.
The 5-foot-6 guard has helped the Titans to a 72-17 record, three WIAC tournament titles and three appearances in the NCAA Division III tournament.
