Dairy Month recipe contest theme is picnic salads

KEWAUNEE COUNTY – The Kewaunee County Farm Bureau Women's Committee announced that picnic salads is the theme of this year's June Dairy Month Recipe Contest.

All recipes must include at least two dairy products, such as milk, butter, cream cheese, yogurt, cottage cheese and sour cream; eggs are not counted as a dairy product for this contest. Fat content will not be a consideration of the judges. Recipes do not need to be original, but there is a limit of one entry per person. Cash prizes will be awarded.

The judging takes place at 7 p.m. sharp June 28 in the Fellowship Hall at at St. John’s Lutheran Church, E5221 Church Road, Rankin. Contestants must bring prepared salads and be present for the judging.

Entries will be taken in two divisions: Senior Division for ages 18 and older, and Junior Division for 17 and younger. Participants must be Kewaunee County residents or members of the Kewaunee County Farm Bureau. although bureau membership is not required. Contest Committee members are not eligible to enter.

Entered recipes should be plainly written or typed on one side of an 8.5-by-11-inch sheet of paper.  The entrant's name, address, phone number and division must be in the upper right-hand corner.

Entries should be emailed to [email protected] or mailed to Brenda Zeitler, E4758 State 54, Algoma, WI 54201. Entries must be postmarked by June 20.
