Kewaunee remained unbeaten with a pair of wins and Casco improved to 5-1 Tuesday with an 11-6 win over Algoma in the Shoreland Baseball League.
The Chiefs are 8-0 after a 6-1 win over Two Rivers Monday and a 6-4 victory over Ashwaubenon Tuesday. Kewaunee plays at 8-1 Denmark Friday, then hosts Casco next Friday. The ‘Guins are 0-7.
Brady Pribek had a two-run double in Monday’s win. He and Reese Berg each had two hits. Jackson Walecka got the win, allowing three hits in five innings.
On Tuesday, Waylon Delain earned the win, giving up five hits and striking out four with one walk in seven innings. Cal Ihlenfeldt had a three-run home run and Alex Rohr a pair of hits.
At Algoma, Trevor Reinhardt’s two-run home run gave Casco a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Jaden Diller’s two-strike double helped the Penguins tie the game at 3-3 in the fourth, but Kordell Draves’ RBI double in the sixth gave the A’s a 4-3 lead.
The Penguins took advantage of a pair of a walk and passed balls to tie the game 5-5 in the bottom of the seventh.
Casco scored six runs on five hits to take an 11-5 lead in the top of the eighth. Owen Deprez had a three-run home run as part of the big inning.
Algoma Penguins tied the game in the bottom of the seventh thanks to a walk by Charlie Prokash, and a passed ball.
Colin Lacey earned the win for Casco A’s. The pitcher gave up one hit and two runs (zero earned) over one and one-third innings, striking out two and walking two. Sam Zirbel took the loss for Algoma Penguins. The pitcher went one and two-thirds innings, surrendering seven runs on five hits, striking out none and walking two.
Jacob Massey stepped on the bump first for Algoma Penguins. He allowed five hits and four runs over six innings, striking out five and walking five. Deprez started on the hill for Casco A’s. The pitcher allowed three hits and three runs (one earned) over five and two-thirds innings, striking out 15 and walking four.
Brady Kita, Carson Leist, Diller, and Jack Peterson each collected one hit for Algoma. Prokash walked four times.
Draves and Reinhardt each collected three hits for Casco. Deprez had two hits and four RBIs, and Patrick Daniels a pair of hits.
Ahnapee Legion beat Bay Port 6-4 last Thursday, then fell to Ashwaubenon Monday.
Siggy Hansen got the win on the mound, striking out eight with no walks allowed. Bo Tanck had three hits in four at-bats, and Charlie Reinhardt had two hits. Tanck and Cal DeMeuse each stole multiple bases.
In the loss to Ashwaubenon, Ahnapee scored in the first on a Jacob Massey single that pushed across Hobbs Emerson. A groundout scored Massey.
Hobbs Emerson stepped on the bump for Ahnapee. The pitcher was in control and tough all night only allowing six hits and four runs (three earned) over six innings, striking out eight and walking two.
Massey and Owen Dannhausen each collected two hits for Ahnapee.
